"Further Than I Wanted" is a song about the reality of sin and the hope of choosing a different path. It reminds us that sin can take us farther than we ever intended, keep us longer than we ever intended, and cost us more than we ever intended to pay.

My desire for this song is more than simply having people hear it. I want its message to reach someone struggling with temptation, compromise, or the consequences of past choices—and remind them that hope remains when we turn our hearts back toward Jesus.

I believe the message of "Further Than I Wanted" can connect with Christian radio listeners because it is both a warning and an invitation: a warning about where sin can lead, and an invitation to choose Christ before the consequences become greater than we ever imagined.
